This might hit a sour note for a few people, but I had a discussion with a very close friend of mine recently, and sometimes I think people need to be reminded of the need for all this to happen.
I have always encouraged you all to think for yourselves, and be critical. Also, I am not one to impose my beliefs on others, but as for this discussion I had, I feel that I should let you know what it was about.
My friend asked, "If there is a God, why does he allow so much pain and suffering?"
Here are a few reasons, why I feel that these things exist. I hate going through the bad times, and goodness I can't wait for them to end. But no matter how long they last, how much pain they cause, and how much I suffer. I know a time will come when it won't be as bad.
- Appreciation. I think the main reason for pain and suffering, is that if there wasn't things to bring you down to earth, everything would have to increasingly get better and better. Every day, you would have to be earning more money, your breakfast would have to taste better than yesterdays, your friends more loving and your life more enjoyable. Why? Because you are going to naturally want more. And without pain and suffering, you don't have a way to appreciate life the way you do now.
- Reference. If there was not good and bad, then you would have no way to gauge future events. If you did not have the pain of death, you would not know the gift of life. It would just be something there for anyone at anytime. Don't some of the best times, come after the worst times? This ties in to appreciation. If you could not look back at the things you've toiled through, then you would have no way to enjoy what you did to get there. I've always heard it's not where you go, it's how you get there. And the struggle that you go through to get anywhere in life, makes any achievement that much sweeter.

Thats Deep and quite true.
heres some random thoughts that came up when i was reading the post.
"you live and you learn"
with no mistakes means no consequences, without any consequences equals no learning. what would you get out of life if you didn't learn from your past experiences.live a little cry a little and be happy.
"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow"

i agree. haha i feel so random whenever i jump on this.
but!
pain and suffering is definitely necessary. sure, you may hate it at the time going through it, but who's to say you won't grow from it, learn from it, become a better person from it. and in some cases, in regards to relationships of any kind, sometimes pain and suffering elevates that relationship to the next level. i'm a big believer in riding out hard times, just because i know if they were too hard to bare then i wouldn't stand up in the end. but to stand up means to conquer in some way or another, no matter how bruised and beat up you are at the end. wounds heal. maybe not completely, but they serve as lessons and memories.
and then there's the topic of people who choose not to suffer. on a smaller scale. i call these people, lazy people. haha. but...it just kills me when people wanna get somewhere but just expect it to happen. everything i'm doing right now, i don't enjoy, but the fact is, that even though it pains me, it's necessary to go through because i need to go through this to get to where i wanna be.
and on the topic of why does God let us go through these things? it's all in the way you look at it. God's here to guide, but does God make your decisions? no. i find myself asking the same question, but i know that if He had the choice, there would be no evil, no bad, no sadness, none of it. but there is. so what?
you live. you live and let live. go through what you need to go through to get to where you wanna be. and if in all that you think you are lost, even a little clarity at the end is indication that you've grown. what's life without the bad? pointless. fall and stand up. fall and stand up.
fall.
then stand up.
Thats some deep stuff guys, not just Jello but all the comments as well. We just gotta ride it out and remember the good times.
