B$ checks out Anchor Steam Brewery

On 4/20, we took a trip to SF to visit the Anchor Steam Brewery, ahem… it was a great way to start the eventful day, which we will not get into details here. Anchor Steam holds daily tours at their brewery to inform the public about their history and how they take part of San Francisco’s culture. I imagined the place to be like the Pawtucket Brewery (Family Guy) with pipes running everywhere, swimming pools filled with beer, and little drunk Oompa Loompas running the place. It was just as I imagined, minus drunk Oompa Loompas, but they do have beer on tap in their break room! How freaking awesome is that?! We spent most of our time in the tasting room, where they exhibited all their labels throughout the years. To end our tour, we had a free beer tasting session of their 6 most popular brews, we each got a good 24 ounce of heavenly liquids in us before lunch time then proceeded to enjoy the glorious holiday in the city of San Francisco. Hope yall enjoyed it as much as we did.

(P.S.- Bomb$hell also highly suggest going on this tour, not only is it informative, there is also free beer...)

Exit Through The Gift Shop: A Banksy Film

Exit Through the Gift Shop, the first film by renowned graffiti artist Banksy, became the hottest ticket at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival where it made its world debut. Banksy is a graffiti artist with a global reputation whose work can be seen on walls from post—hurricane New Orleans to the separation barrier on the Palestinian West Bank. Fiercely guarding his anonymity to avoid prosecution, Banksy has so far resisted all attempts to be captured on film. Exit Through the Gift Shop tells the incredible true story of how an eccentric French shop keeper turned documentary maker attempted to locate and befriend Banksy, only to have the artist turn the camera back on its owner with spectacular results. The film contains exclusive footage of Banksy, Shepard Fairey, Invader and many of the worlds most infamous graffiti artists at work, on walls and in interview. As Banksy describes it, Its basically the story of how one man set out to film the un—filmable. And failed.

DBSTK CRZZY. Christopher Catral, a California Born, San Jose raised beast currently residing in Korea, is continuing his journey abroad. Raw, and an unbelievable skill to kill the microphone with every bar that he spits; his talent in music industry is refreshing to the ears, and puts a new flavor to our taste buds. VERSATILE? Is there even a word that can describe the many flavors of musical rhythms DBSTK can speak on? His words are in harmony with any rhythm, from dubstep, electro, hip-hop, and even in complete silence, he will assassinate it.
SEOUL WORLD DJ FESTIVAL , GLOBAL GATHERING, JISAN VALLEY ROCK FESTIVAL, just to name a few of the events DBSTK will be performing at, this year is already off to a great start. With a new mixtape coming out this summer, and his album releasing January 2011, DBSTK CRZZY x HALLOWAY will be taking flight. We will be posting more on this beast so keep posted!

I Am The Future- Ojisun x INVS Collaboration Party

Yesterday was the “I Am The Future” collaboration party between Japanese brand Ojisun and SF based company Invisible Stripes. I was able to make it out to the SJ edition of event held at Black and Brown, which by the way I made a nice chunk of change from selling them some old clothes. But anyway, while at Black and Brown, Dee Jae of Konscious Klothing welcomed Ana and I in to check out the setup and the prepping behind the event. It was pretty cool having a sneak peak of the collection released by Ojisun/ Punk Drunkers before everyone else sees it. They made a limited edition of an SJ collab tee featuring a shark rocking out and “Shark City” written above it, the design is also made to be 3-D but unfortunately it does not come with any glasses, but very dope nonetheless. Ojisun is a brand that caters to toddlers clothing and I gotta admit, I was digging a lot of what I saw from them, quality quality quality! Punk Drunkers was also another Japanese brand that had their collection on display, seems to me that they are the same guys that runs Ojisun. I had a chance to talk to some of them and I love how they came up with the name, they love punk music and also love drinking, just as easy as that, Punk Drunkers. Seeing how these guys traveled all the way from Tokyo to Cali for their company, it gives me great inspirations to push our company out there and provide the best quality to our consumers. Hopefully in the near future, we’ll be making moves around the globe. Enjoy the pics!

Yuri's Night

Its been awhile, but I'm back! I've been busy handling some other shit and have learned to manage my time better, so lets get the ball rolling again. Over the past weekend, I was able to check out Yuri's Night at Moffet Field, this was the 49th anniversary of the first astronaut sent into outer space. The function was as diverse as diverse can be, from hip-hop heavy hitters such as Common to Trekkies and men with 7-inch high space boots. Yuri's Night's purpose is to promote and celebrate the history of space travel, NASA has been holding this event every April 12th since 2001. The highlights of the day was seeing performances by DJ Q-Bert, N.E.R.D, Glitch Mob, and Common. So I suggest everyone to check it out next year, especially since it will the 50th anniversary and from the official website, they said the planning is already in the works.

Halloway Spring 2010 2nd Delivery

We present to you, our 2nd delivery for our 2010 Spring release. With the unpredictable weather we’ve been experiencing, we thought it would be fitting to release a zip-up sweater along with a new shirt. The sweater is of our 1% design with the new addition of the “1%” logo on the left arm, both the feather logo and the “1%” are embroidered in white on the sweater.
