Kenzo Digital - City of God's Son

This seems pretty nuts. Check it out at cityofgodson.com. I wonder how they put it all together, cause mos def, these artists didn't take time out of their busy schedules to get this done. Nas, Jay-Z, Ghostface, Samuel L., Delroy Lindo and more? I'm still waiting for my copy to download from the site, so go get yours.

Jean-Yves Lemoigne - Pixel Girls

I was browsin the internet, and came across these. They are photos taken by the french photographer Jean-Yves Lemoigne for Amusement Magazine. Thought they were pretty funny. But I wonder what they're made out of. Are those legos?

Notorious - Review

I went to go watch the movie this weekend and to be honest, it did a number of things for me. It made me really realize how some artists have gone a different way with their careers. I don't want to hate, but one person comes to mind. Actually, we'll save that for another post. Notorious was a good movie for what it was. Helped you remember the life and times of the one and only B.I.G. And it brought back some memories. I've seen all kinds of movies, having to deal with the East Coast vs. West Coast Battle, Tupac, Biggie, Rap, or Hip-Hop, because what can I say. I love it. But that's all the movie really was. To be honest I expected a bit more from it. I wanted it to give a better idea of who the man was, what he was trying to accomplish, the things that people didn't really get to see. But maybe I expected too much or maybe with B.I.G, what you saw is what you got.

I liked that I got to bob my head every time one of his songs went on, or that I got to see different actors play the roles of some of the more prominent figures in rap. But all in all, the movie was nothing more than average. One that you could definitely wait to watch on DVD.

1 last thing though, I thank the movie, for reminding me how far we've come from that time, in both a good way and a bad way. Thanks for Barack, sorry for 808s and Heartbreaks. Leave that voice synthesizer shit to T-Pain. You're real and original, but you took a step back from Graduation.

Michael Jordan Steaks

What do Michael Jordan and steak have in common? Absolutely nothing. Apparently Mr. Airness thinks Nike, Gatorade, Hanes, and Wheaties, just isn’t enough. Now Michael Jordan is coming out with his own signature steaks. Will they be numbered just like his shoes? I’d feel awkward ordering an “Air T-Bone” cooked medium though. We’ll see and find out.

Fresh Produce Art Exhibit

Yesterday, I was on my usual ride around downtown San Jose, when I came across an art exhibit and sale on First Street. Inside they have tattoo and graffiti books from a wide variety of skilled artists around the world. They also have artwork for sale, one in particular, a Shawn Barber portrait of Mike Giant. Lastly, in the back they have an exhibit that features urban contemporary art that is also for sale with prices $250 and under. If anyone wants to check this out the place is called Fresh Produce and the address is 366 South 1st Street here in San Jo.

Nip/Tuck is back!

Last night was the premiere of Nip/Tuck. It wasn’t a season premiere, but it continued where it left off last time it was on air. For those of you who didn’t get a chance to watch it last night, Sean lives from getting stabbed in the back multiple times by his old manager and ends up in a wheelchair teaching new plastic surgeons. Christian finds out he has breast cancer, and of course with all the drama, who can forget all the sex that happens in between. Check out all the new episodes of Nip/Tuck Tuesdays on FX at 10 and 11pm.

Oakland Man Handcuffed, Then Shot And Killed By A BART-Police Officer

This is unjustifiable. I am mad and saddened by this. This is a completely fucked situation. How do you HANDCUFF an UNARMED man, lay him FACE DOWN ON HIS BACK, pull your gun out and SHOOT HIM IN THE BACK? I call for murder charges. This is sickening. I believe if the officer is not tried or a trial is not held, that there will be widespread riots in Oakland. You cannot let this shit fly. RIP Oscar Grant

All-Star Game - Sharks

After how well the Sharks are doing this season. I'm a little disappointed that none of the Sharks have made the starting line-up for the All-Star game. I mean, after how hard they are working, I think it would just be right that we show them some love for what they're doing. Were people not out there voting? This is like the whole deal with Baron not getting a spot in last years All-Star game. Could this be a problem in the bay? That we want our teams to do well, but when they are doing well, we don't show them the love they deserve. They've put in the effort, why can't we do the same. Unfortunately, it's a little to late to vote now.

Let's try a little harder next time.

Kirkland Vodka

I was reading a post, on another blog I read on the regular, about state alcohol laws. And I found something, for all you party animals, that is pretty interesting.

There are several laws in place, that actually prevent membership based stores such as Costco and Sam's club from preventing non-members from buying alcohol. Keep in mind that these laws vary from state to state. BUT!

Luckily California isn't one of those states. So let's all head over to Costco get us some Kirkland Vodka and throw us a party. NO MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED!!
