Tom Shoes

"I recently started working as a merchandiser coordinator for TOMS Shoes. TOMS Shoes is simple. For every pair that you buy, we donate a pair to a child in need. TOMS is featured in a spring issue 2008 of Oprah magazine, TIME, Vogue, and others. Last year, alone, TOMS donated 60,000 pairs of shoes to children in Argentina and South Africa!! Podoconiosis is a debilitating disease that is caused by walking and working in silica-heavy volcanic soil. This created a large public health problem in in least 10 countries in Africa, Central America, and northern India. Podoconiosis is more common than the HIV virus. Those affected suffer deformities and intense pain and are outcasts from their society.; unable to work and make a living for themselves. Starting in 2008, TOMS will being to work on stamping out this preventable disease by giving durable shoes to all early-stage or at risk children in the hazardous areas of Ethiopia. You can be apart of movement to change the lives of many children! "
