Via Velo, the Silicon Valley Bike Coalition made it possible for this event to happen. The city of San Jose closed down a good chunk of San Fernando Street to embrace biking as a form of transportation as well as the culture and issues that comes with it. There was a lot of booths and live music going on, but since I was on a tight schedule, I went straight to the business… the trick comp held by iMiNUSD and San Jose Fixed. The comp was dope, saw some tricks that I have never seen before and it was great seeing younger kids interested in the sport and saying “oohs” and “ahhs” to the fascination of fixed gear bikes. Halloway’s rider, Donghoh, placed 2nd which we are very proud of, keep it man! Squeeks took first and Jon Jon placed 3rd. Shout outs to iMiNUSD, SJF, the riders, and the folks of Via Velo for organizing this. It is always nice to see events like this happen in San Jose, represent!
