I have actually been on this site for awhile, and i think it is awesome. Think of it as a win-win situation. They are an organization that have set up a "game" for us to help donate rice to the needy. The game isn't actually a game, it is more like a bunch of multiple choice questions and for every right answer you answer, they will donate 10 grains of rice to the United Nation Food Program to help end hunger. You can change the subjects of the game to other topics of your liking, but i just stay on the English vocabulary one and use an online dictionary to cheat. Its a great way to kill time, gain some knowledge, and help people. Hitting 3 birds with one stone, hollar. FreeRice.com and here is a link to a dictionary.

Nitto Mandle Handlebars
"The Nitto Mandle handle bar in the Euro Asia Imports booth at Interbike were just waiting to be held and admired. They are chromed steel with a clamping diameter of 25.4. You can get them in a riser or a straight bar. I took a quick measurement, since you can't really cut them down, or you will cut off the end caps, which are their entire identity...The bar ends are completely capped in steel. The bars, in both styles, are clean looking and made of steel to withstand urban abuse." (Info and Pictures- Source Wheelgirl.com)
Although I don't ride risers or straights, these are pretty cool, im wondering if there is a reason for the design. Maybe its just for aesthetic reasons considering they are minimalistic and are pretty sleek looking.

Medicine for Melancholy
Swooped it from jory's myspace bulletin. The film looks pretty sweet, it brings the question of "race" to mind, plus they ride bikes. Im assuming they're using "race" as a metaphor...maybe. Comes out on 2/27

The Ox is the direct opposite of the sheep, therefore expect challenges in all areas this year. Keep a low profile.

Welcome Mr. President
I've been waking up early the last few days. Something that's starting to feel pretty good. And one of the many highlights of my early morning adventures is watching the inauguration today (actually right now) on TV. I'm excited for all the possibilities. Reading all the plans that Barack has, the things he has already set up and listening to his thoughts on America. Let's see what our great country and new president has in store for us. Welcome Barack.

Kenzo Digital - City of God's Son
This seems pretty nuts. Check it out at cityofgodson.com. I wonder how they put it all together, cause mos def, these artists didn't take time out of their busy schedules to get this done. Nas, Jay-Z, Ghostface, Samuel L., Delroy Lindo and more? I'm still waiting for my copy to download from the site, so go get yours.

I was browsin the internet, and came across these. They are photos taken by the french photographer Jean-Yves Lemoigne for Amusement Magazine. Thought they were pretty funny. But I wonder what they're made out of. Are those legos?

Notorious - Review
I went to go watch the movie this weekend and to be honest, it did a number of things for me. It made me really realize how some artists have gone a different way with their careers. I don't want to hate, but one person comes to mind. Actually, we'll save that for another post. Notorious was a good movie for what it was. Helped you remember the life and times of the one and only B.I.G. And it brought back some memories. I've seen all kinds of movies, having to deal with the East Coast vs. West Coast Battle, Tupac, Biggie, Rap, or Hip-Hop, because what can I say. I love it. But that's all the movie really was. To be honest I expected a bit more from it. I wanted it to give a better idea of who the man was, what he was trying to accomplish, the things that people didn't really get to see. But maybe I expected too much or maybe with B.I.G, what you saw is what you got.
I liked that I got to bob my head every time one of his songs went on, or that I got to see different actors play the roles of some of the more prominent figures in rap. But all in all, the movie was nothing more than average. One that you could definitely wait to watch on DVD.
1 last thing though, I thank the movie, for reminding me how far we've come from that time, in both a good way and a bad way. Thanks for Barack, sorry for 808s and Heartbreaks. Leave that voice synthesizer shit to T-Pain. You're real and original, but you took a step back from Graduation.

Oakland Man Handcuffed, Then Shot And Killed By A BART-Police Officer
This is unjustifiable. I am mad and saddened by this. This is a completely fucked situation. How do you HANDCUFF an UNARMED man, lay him FACE DOWN ON HIS BACK, pull your gun out and SHOOT HIM IN THE BACK? I call for murder charges. This is sickening. I believe if the officer is not tried or a trial is not held, that there will be widespread riots in Oakland. You cannot let this shit fly. RIP Oscar Grant

All-Star Game - Sharks
After how well the Sharks are doing this season. I'm a little disappointed that none of the Sharks have made the starting line-up for the All-Star game. I mean, after how hard they are working, I think it would just be right that we show them some love for what they're doing. Were people not out there voting? This is like the whole deal with Baron not getting a spot in last years All-Star game. Could this be a problem in the bay? That we want our teams to do well, but when they are doing well, we don't show them the love they deserve. They've put in the effort, why can't we do the same. Unfortunately, it's a little to late to vote now.
Let's try a little harder next time.

Welcome 2009
2008 was a good year, we topped it off with a drunk ass secret santa gift exchange, a white elephant that never got on its feet, and brought in the 09' with Diplo in The City. Above are some pics I found courtesy of BT and Ana at these events. Lets make the 09 better than 08! Happy new year once again!!
