The Grouch - Artsy

The ARTSY movement can best be explained as an experiment in ARTOLOGY.

For those who have been surrounded by the ARTSY video, its familiarity and cultural resonance is comforting and owning an ARTSY video provides a souvenir or keepsake, a memento. People have often demanded the ARTSY video merely because they have seen it everywhere and possessing an ARTSY video provides a sense of belonging. The ARTSY video seems mostly to be embraced by those who are (or at least want to seem to be) ARTSY.

might be old, but its still a badass video.

I like the black and white theme. Holla at me Estelle!

Random Thoughts

what up what up. first post here on bombshell. just wanted to make a contribution. anyways, here goes, so ive been here in socal for like 4 years nows and ive been noticing that the couples here arent so, i dont know, on point. its like a trend here in socal for a decent to hot girl to be with a not so attractive guy. haha. when you pass by them you cant help but think "how did homeboy pull her?" jello and marcus can help me out on this one. me and jello had this discussion before and he thinks that these beezies dont know any better and marcus thinks its about the money and the materialistic things. me, im still confused about the whole damn thing. haha. im assuming its the timing. these dudes be swooping in at the right moment, possibly when the girl is vulnerable or before she blossomed. haha shit i dont know. but this shit is crazy.

Argument Hour: Small Groups

It's always nice to see the good and bad in things, so you can utilize your decisions. And so for right now, I'm going to tell you why I enjoy chillin in small groups.

There are a few perks to chillin in small groups, and I'll start off with why it's hard sometimes to chill in a big group of people.

  1. You don't have time to talk to everyone. When you go out with a big group of people, how do you really get the chance to talk to everyone. I could see you across the table, but only get to talk to you really for like 5-10 minutes. What can really be covered in that many minutes? Honestly not too much
  2. Party too hard. When you're in a big group of people, there are some perks. Lots of cars, lots of drivers, lots of people to look out for you. You're less responsible, because odds are, there'll be someone else to help you out (though you shouldn't be dependent on it)
  3. Party too often. When you have a big group of friends, there is a birthday almost every weekend. This means, drinking, partying and late nights. So often, that at times you begin to feel the grind of constant partying.
So just looking at that, it helps me appreciate the fun that can be had in small groups. Deeper conversations, moderation and more responsibility. Sometimes it's nice to have something to keep you in check.

Thoughts: Artists

You know, it's a trip, because nowadays, it seems as if anyone can make a beat. Truth is, not everyone can make beats like true artists. They may eventually get to that level, but that level is not easily attained. So check it out. Watch this video

Kanye

because that's an artist at work. Poise, direction and capability. He knows what he wants and he just smashes out a beat. Now I'm not saying he's the best, but I am saying... that he's a friggin BEAST! And I admit, I'm a sucker for them beats, just get your head bobbin, thinking of ways to fill in the verse, because a song with some powerful beats, and some meaningful words can take you miles..

some good stuff ya'll

Argument Hour: Promises

I admit that this could be a bit childish, but I think that the word itself may indeed be taken too lightly. And if there is nothing to hold people to their words, then things would just go ary. Think about it.

When you tell someone you'll be there, and you're not, then what kind of person are you really being? You're not sticking to your word, you're not being a good friend, you're not being trusworthy.

Recently I started taking down people's promises, as well as my own, and making sure people follow through. So be trustworthy people, follow through on your word. Because to be honest, I think that this is one small thing you could change in your life to make it that much easier.

The book is $15 bucks and the link is It's Just a Plant. This is the link straight to the story . Magic Propaganda Mill Books.

Youtube: Post Secret Collab

I stumbled upon this while browsing through youtube, and post secret has always been one of my favorite things so I know it's a day late, but Happy Valentine's Day

check out Marcus' post a few days ago..

I got a few more things to write on the subject, but I'll keep it short.

Valentine's day can definitely go either way. You can feel the joy of spending it with that special someone, or you could be really aware of how single you are. There is love out there, be optimistic. That's all I wish for everyone. Take care Ya'll

Hit up that Murakami ish @ The MOCA

Hit up that Murakami Exhibit at the MOCA yesterday and it was definitely worth the $10. I feel inspired. His work was so clean and yet so crazy at the same time. The sculptures he did were pretty nuts too. Also got to see Kanye's Good Morning video on a 100 inch screen which was dope. Fuckin Ari yelled out "Good Morning!" right before it started haha. I accidentally hit the shutter on my camera a few times.. oh well.!

News: Super Tuesday!

Californian's let me say a few things to you. Tomorrow is a very crucial day in this presidential election. We are a huge piece of the puzzle. And everyone's vote counts. I am not going to tell you who to vote for. And I am definitely not supporting Ron Paul with this video, although I like the creativeness of his campaign symbol. But get out there and do your part. We have the chance to see history in the making.

Thoughts: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

You know, one thing I definitely advocate is that you make your own choices. We have our views on bomb$hell, but since the beginning I've preached that you don't take OUR word for anything. But learn for yourself, be smart and make your own decisions. So make some butter, kick back and have fun.

News: Belk

I admit, this story has been out for a while. But to be honest this guy gets up. And he handles his work, and does it with a passion. Something definitely to be appreciated.

Bay Area artist, Daniel Cortez Aldama, was charged a while back for four counts of public vandalism, after creating 100,000$ worth of "damage" to public property. But to be honest, guy has talent. You see his stuff up, and he gets down with business. Etchings here and there, throwies and some fat pieces. Just flickr him and you'll see how he gets down. His personal page has been taken off, but in support of living life, and loving what you do here's a post. Homie even has a little somethin somethin up at Cali. But handle that local news.
